IMPERIAL DAZE

This pysch-pop band are a very energetic live act and that comes through in this series. I shot most of the gig on high-speed film, resulting in the attractive grainy texture in many of the images.

ROB MOIR

Rob is a singer/songwriter who tours the world almost constantly, playing both larger venues and festivals as well as clubs and bars. Pictures from this gig at a north London pub show the intensity and passion of his performance in a small, intimate venue.

STEPNEY SUPPER CLUB

This five-piece funk, soul and disco classics band were playing an outside gig at a festival in the middle of summer. The bright light allowed me to do part of the shoot on slow colour slide film, which I then desaturated to produce soft-colour images with a slight retro look, fitting the style of the music.

Nikon FM2n, 135mm/f2.8 and 200mm/f4, Velvia 50 and Ilford HP5+

WERBEL’S GERBILS

The tiny stage of the sadly missed 12 Bar Club was even more crowded than usual for this gig, with seven musicians squeezed into the scant few feet of space. The result was one of the most pleasingly grungy-looking shows I have ever shot.
